Development Update 1


DEFY DEATH!

Death stands in front of you, dangling your soul right under your nose, drawing out the judgement process as long as they can. Will you go up? Will you go down? What is up? What is down? You decide to take matters into your own hands. You snatch your soul out of Death's grasp and begin to run!

Today was the first day in the development of Defy Death, a new first person parkour game about a person running away from Death. I have tried to make this kind of a game before, but most of my attempts ended up getting shelved for other projects and responsibilities. A free running game to give you a sense of exhilaration with enough quick thinking to keep you on your toes has been a dream of mine for a while. A fluid movement system

I took my old code attempts and reworked them into something new for this game, trying to avoid the mistakes I had made in the past. It still feels a little clunky, but I'm hoping that with enough peer testing and feedback I'll be able to figure out the problems within the 2 week time frame that we have to create this game.

Next I plan to design the various enemy types that the player will encounter on their mad dash ahead.
